August 31, 2009 - new web site!
News Flash! Our new web site is operational!
Welcome to our newly re-created web site!
The main change is that we are no longer using the Microsoft Front Page
software because ~ while it worked fine ~ that software required the Server
hosting the web site to provide “Front Page Extensions” to make the order
forms function. This feature is now considered “out of date”
and in the future Servers will not continue to provide "Front Page Extensions."
So I re-created the web site in software that does not require “Front Page
Extensions.” My choice was Microsoft Expression Web because it is
more similar to Front Page than any other software I examined. The
new (re-created) web site was put on-line on August 24, 2009. It is
not completely finished (and never will be!), but everything you see on
the web site is now functioning!
I tried to accomplish 3 main goals when I re-created this web site:
1 – I retained the pictures from the old Home Page so that people familiar
with the old web site would see something familiar on the new Home Page
2 – The “menu” on the old Home Page has been replaced with a navigation
bar on the top and bottom of ALL the pages…this should make navigation even
easier.
3 – I tried to make the Home Page less “cluttered” and make it easier for
first time visitors to get to information they may be looking for as quickly
as possible by offering the links for “Engaged/Dating Couples” and “”Clergy/Marriage
Educators” and “Sponsor/Mentor Couples.”
So, I think we improved the web site, but I welcome your feedback, comments
and suggestions.
