The California Healthy Marriages Coalition

For all USA couples - not Canada or Guam

The California Healthy Marriages Coalition has agreed to include For Better and For Ever in the list of marriage preparation programs they are evaluating for quality and effectiveness. The process will include:

1 - A “Pretest” the engaged couple fills out before they meet with their sponsor/mentor couple.

2 - A “Post Test” the engaged couple fills out after their sessions with their sponsor/mentor couple.

3 - Two additional Surveys sent directly to the newly married couple by the California Healthy Marriage Coalition to collect feedback 3 months into their marriage and then 6 months into their marriage.

What you (the pastor) or your secretary need to do......3 easy steps:

Step 1 - ORDER THE SURVEYS. Fill out this Request Form 3 weeks before the Pre-test will be given to the engaged couple (they must be send snail mail!) >

Step 2 - GIVE THE "PRE-TEST". When the Pastor has completed his preliminary meeting(s) with the engaged couple, he will give the "Pre-Test" to the engaged couple before sending them to meet with a sponsor/mentor couple.

Step 3 - GIVE THE "POST-TEST". Then when the engaged couple returns to the pastor ~ after their sessions with the sponsor/mentor couple ~ he will give them the "Post Test."

Two additional “follow-up” surveys will be done by the California Healthy Marriages team, but they will mail them directly to the newly married couple (rather than to the Pastor). When the engaged couple is given the “Pre-Test,” they will also be given self addressed follow-up envelopes that the California Healthy Marriages Coalition will use to contact them directly after they are married.
